US Golf Course Access & Player Origins

This project is currently in progress.

This project explores whether top-ranked PGA and LPGA players in the United States tend to come from areas with higher golf course accessibility. It combines geospatial data, player rankings, and golf course locations to analyze access and distribution across the country. The final output will include an interactive Tableau dashboard that visualizes access, player hometowns, and course density.

Key components of the project include:

• Cleaning and merging golf course and player datasets
• Calculating proximity of player hometowns to nearby golf courses
• Analyzing correlations between state-level infrastructure and player output
• Preparing visualizations to explore regional trends in talent development
